Tommy Gabriel, TV commentator and anti-bullying advocate as seen on TMZ Live, cast in TV series to be released on Amazon
Tommy Gabriel Sparandera, who appeared on TMZ Live as a commentator during his senior year of high school, makes his debut as an actor in TV Series which has a September release through Amazon entitled, “Finding Ourselves”.
“Finding Ourselves” as described via IMDb.com, is a television series which involves seven friends who are in for a school year that will test their friendships, loyalty, patience, and even, their ability to solve quadratic equations.” Tommy Gabriel Sparandera, known for his significant social media following as Tommy Gabriel, will be portraying one of the friends in the series in the role of Kevin Goldsberg. When asked about his forthcoming role as an actor, he describes his character as “an empowered nerd who is very comfortable in his own skin. He is very boastful at times, and often bullied.” The opportunity for Gabriel to be cast for this production, according to Director Deckonti Tiah was initially due to that fact that he was “so dedicated and committed to the show”. Tiah concluded, “when Tommy Gabriel read for the role of Kevin, as he spoke of just how much the character truly resonated with him, it was then that “I knew I had made the right choice.”
Tommy Gabriel knows what it is to experience bullying by his peers, and he also knows what it is to overcome this, and not only overcome but to move forward to inspire others and encourage them regarding the fact that there are “brighter days ahead”. When Tommy Gabriel was asked for his words of wisdom to encourage others who may be experiencing bullying or simply going through difficult times, regardless of age, he said, “take a second and put your hand over your heart. Hear that? You’re still alive, you have a purpose in this world. You may think that nothing will ever get better, but it will.” Gabriel continued, “Just attempt to focus on your hobbies, your work. Take one day at a time. Things will get better eventually, and remember, it can’t rain forever, there must be sunshine at some point. That goes for your feelings as well. I am living breathing proof of that.”
Gabriel described getting involved with social media very actively during high school, where he was able “to find people who like him for who he is” and since then, he has met friends nearby who became friends in life away from social media too. Gabriel stated, “My friend Nikki is one of the close friends who I met through social media, and we have been friends for years.” Tommy Gabriel shares content to inspire others in areas of his personal interest which he hopes will continue to resonate with his social media followers, who he endearingly refers to as “online besties”. Gabriel concluded, “I share a mixture of “Tech Talk”, ‘Celeb Gossip” and topics relatable to the demographics of many who engage in my social media platforms. I speak about basically anything I take an authentic interest in.” Gabriel also speaks out against bullying and will speak up if he sees someone (online or off) who is being bullied. When he was asked who it is that inspires him the most, Gabriel said it is his mom, “she always finds a positive view on any situation and keeps pushing through no matter what life throws her way.” That ability is inspiring and contagious, as witnessed by his 50,000+ and rising social media fans. Tommy Gabriel appeared on TMZ Live several times as a live commentator, and he found it to be a “great experience”. He indicated he would “love to do live commentating on the show again.” Tommy Gabriel is working on an emoji application to show his appreciation for his online follower base, according to Gabriel,“ for me, it’s a way to give back something cool and entertaining to those who inspire me daily.”
